The Editor to manages multiple trade projects, including directories, show programs, and special sections across our various business-to-business titles. This person is a professional business journalist who will represent our business publications inside and outside of the company. Primary responsibilities include: managing the editorial production of assigned projects, assisting in the planning of magazines and websites, and reviewing columns, feature stories, news items, and story ideas for given projects, marketplaces, and sections of magazines and websites. This person also stays abreast of new developments and trends within related industries and communities and advises management and key personnel in regard to those.
• Bachelors degree in journalism or related field or equivalent work experience • 10 years of editorial experience in business journalism • Excellent writing, editing, and formatting skills • Working knowledge of grammar, punctuation, style, and spelling • Excellent multi-tasking and timely project management skills • Proficient in MS Word, Outlook, and Quark Xpress • PC and MAC savvy • Working knowledge of websites and content interaction between websites and print publications • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Supervisory experience preferred.
