Selling classified advertising by renewing and reinstating existing accounts, up-selling current advertisers, and selling leads provided by database group. Manage a territory of 600-800 active accounts and approximately 300-500 prospects. •Consistently solicit new advertisers through competitive publications, mailings and other means. •Consistently solicits new advertisers through leads •Make renewal calls to advertisers who have not responded to the reminder notice. •Generate new leads. •Initiate sales calls to prospective customers, always pointing out our value (i.e., circulation, low cost for value, VALUE SELLING). •Consistently up sell existing customers to a higher level of advertising and longer frequency (i.e., quarterly, semi-annual, or annual payments). •Adhere to closing deadlines. •Know market and product. •Meet personal and team goals. •Assist others as needed. •Listen, close the sale, and follow-up after close

Must demonstrate proficiency in the following areas: Excellent oral and written communication; strong outbound selling and marketing; customer service; organizational skills; must be detail-oriented with good follow-up skills, spelling, grammar and proofreading; data entry/word processing; must adhere to deadlines and be a team player; searching and relating to a niche market; 40 WPM, and basic proficiency with Word, Excel, and Outlook.
